Mulebuy Spreadsheet Was-Now: what the line through a number is meant to mean

Search the catalogue for a find, then judge its reduced price the way the rules do: against the lowest price the same shop charged in the days before the sale began.

These photographs identify the product type, not guaranteed stock, quality or a live price. Open a category, then check the individual seller listing and your chosen agent’s restrictions.

The Spreadsheet is the starting price check

A Spreadsheet collects seller links and product information so that you can shortlist finds. It does not reserve a sale price or complete a purchase. An agent buys the chosen item from the seller, receives it in China and later ships your parcel abroad. The product price, domestic delivery, agent services and international freight belong to different stages of that process.

Was-Now helps you compare the same item, variant and quantity over time. The look-back chart records prices you enter; it is not a live price feed or evidence that every buyer received that price. Our detailed pages explain comparison figures, while the buying guide keeps the final payable total in view.

Look-back chart: plot the prices you saw

A crossed-out figure is a claim about the past. The only way to test it from outside China is to keep your own record: the date you looked, the price shown for one option of one listing, and the figure that was struck through. The Look-back chart turns that record into a line and lays two references over it: the lowest price in the seven days before the sale started, which is the yardstick in China’s promotion rule, and the lowest in the thirty days before, which is the European one.

It runs in your browser and keeps nothing. Load the practice record to see how it reads a sale that was preceded by a one-week price rise, then type in your own dates and yuan prices.

A lower sticker can still produce a higher parcel total

Compare like with like: the selected size, quantity, seller delivery charge and any conditions on a discount. Then leave space for the separate international quote. A bulky low-price item can cost more to forward than a compact higher-price alternative.
